Makhdoom Mohiuddin

Born in a village in Medak, a district of the former princely state of Hyderabad, Makhdoom Mohiuddin (1908-1969) grew up to become a poet of incredible versatility. He is best known for his verse collection Bisat-e-Raqs, which includes his two earlier collections Surkh Savera (1944), and Gul-e-Tar (1961). His published works include an essay Tagore and his Poetry, a play, Hosh ke Nakhun, an adaptation of Shaw's Widowers' Houses, and a collection of prose essays.
